Tariffs & LDC Graduation
Status: Partially verified. Last reviewed: 2026-07-24. Coverage: Rates in force since 24 Jul 2026; post-graduation scenarios.
Known gaps (4)
- Post-graduation LDC tariff scenarios are projections only What to do: Present post-graduation tariff figures as scenarios, not forecasts.
- US country duties are in active flux: the Supreme Court struck down the IEEPA reciprocal tariffs on 20 Feb 2026, the Court of International Trade struck down their Section 122 replacement on 7 May 2026 (on appeal), and the Section 301 forced-labor duties in force since 24 Jul 2026 were themselves challenged by 25 states on 3 Aug 2026. Rates shown are current but may not survive litigation What to do: Re-check the legal status of US duties on the date you cite them; current rates may change with litigation.
- The textile/apparel tariff-rate quota deadline (1 Sep 2026) passed without a Federal Register notice establishing the quota; the effective-rate series does not assume one is in force What to do: The effective-rate series assumes no quota is in force; do not assume one is.
- Export-decline and jobs-at-risk projections were modelled against the earlier 19% country rate and read as an upper bound at the current 10% What to do: Read the export-decline and jobs-at-risk projections as an upper bound at the current rate.
